Four months after the Senate visited Busia County and criticised laxity in revenue collection, especially from long-distance trucks, the Busia County Government has put in place robust strategies, including the use of technology and the installation of covert surveillance cameras at the border points.
Officers in the revenue department have assured the Busia County Assembly’s Finance Committee that they will meet their annual revenue target of two billion shillings, based on recent studies conducted by various institutions.
