A majority of Kenyans say the high cost of school fees and uniforms is the main obstacle to achieving a 100 percent transition from junior to senior secondary school. According to the Infotrak poll, 39 percent of parents and learners say school fees and uniforms are major challenges, followed by inadequate information and learning materials. On the quality of education, 33 percent feel it has worsened under the competency-based education (CBE) system, while 19 percent say it has remained the same. 49 percent, however, believe CBE has improved education quality.
