Sigh of relief as cooking oil prices drop

Kenyan households could breathe a sigh of relief following a drop in cooking oil prices globally with the same expected to feature soon in the Kenyan market. This is even as the country’s inflation hit a 5-year high of 9.6% this month driven by soaring food and energy prices. This further comes close to two months since the commencement of president William Ruto's tenure, with his administration in a race against time to fulfil its campaign promises to lower the cost of living.
