Pupils forced to learn under trees after KFS demolishes Loromoru Primary

Pupils of Loromoru Primary School in Baringo County are learning under deplorable conditions, amid a deepening standoff between the Kenya Forest Service and the local community. Irate parents accused KFS of high-handedness, claiming the school has not been rebuilt at the original site, which was gazetted as part of the Mukutani forest in 2016. The parents say the new proposed site is unreasonable, as pupils would have to make a 20-kilometre round trip daily.
