POLICE ASSURE TIGHT SECURITY IN MOMBASA AHEAD OF RAMADHAN AMID RISING JUVENILE GANG ATTACKS

Police in Mombasa have assured the Muslim community and residents of heightened security operations during the holy month of Ramadhan, which begins next week, following rising concerns over juvenile gang attacks. Speaking after a security meeting with Muslim leaders in Mombasa, police said they will deploy both uniformed and plainclothes officers to work closely with the community in a bid to curb criminal gangs that have been terrorising residents using machetes.
