The plight of women dying during childbirth in the continent took center stage during the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly of Heads of State and Government in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. President William Ruto addressing the assembly said it is unacceptable that women continue to die during child birth, stressing the protection of the lives of women and children is a responsibility that must be upheld without compromise.
