Thousands of travelers using Kenyan airports can now breathe a sigh of relief after the Kenya Aviation Workers’ Union called off their strike, which had disrupted flights for the last 48 hours. KAWU secretary general Moss Ndiema announced the end of industrial action after a meeting with top officials from the ministries of transport and labour, the management of KCAA and KAA, where they agreed on a return-to-work formula. The relief came hours after hundreds of travellers at JKIA shared with Citizen TV their tribulations following the strike that affected major airlines operating in the region.
