United Democratic Alliance candidate Dekow Mohammed has won the Garissa Township constituency seat in the just concluded by-election. Mohammed garnered 11,572 votes out of the 21,218 votes cast. His closest contester UDM`s Dolal Nassir Mohammed got 8,158 votes. Speaking shortly after his win, Mohammed pledged to prioritize the welfare of all the Garissa Township electorate regardless of their political party affiliation.
