The ministry of health has suspended all nicotine related product licenses, giving all importers, manufacturers, distributors and marketers 21 days to re-apply for new ones, a move that the Cabinet Secretary for Health Aden Duale says will help reduce tobacco and nicotine uptake in the country. Duale was speaking during the World Tobacco Day celebration held in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, where he also saw the burning of over 5 tons of tobacco and nicotine products seized at Eldoret International Airport since 2021.
