Police in Rongo, working alongside the Federation of Women Lawyers, have raised alarm over a surge in sexual and gender-based violence, warning that widows and women entangled in land disputes are increasingly at risk. Rongo OCPD Salim Fundi says six suspects have already been arrested after a widow was violently attacked by her stepchildren and in-laws in one of the latest incidents that left her hospitalized.
