The Ministry of Education has revealed that Junior Secondary School learners will be expected to sit for the Kenya Junior Secondary Education assessment upon completion of Grade 9. According to the latest detailed guidelines issued by the ministry, the performance of learners will be based on their ability to meet the expectations in the learning areas. And as Serfine Achieng’ reports, the yearly performance reports will be summed up with the outcome of the national summative assessment to be administered by KNEC at the end of Grade 9.
