Nurses, governors clash over UHC staff transfers

A move by the council of governors to oppose the transfer of close to 8000 universal health coverage staff to county governments before the release of funds has drawn sharp criticism from the nurses' union. Nurses’ union secretary general Seth Panyako has accused Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki of being insincere and obstructing the transition of the UHC workers to the devolved units and called on the health cabinet secretary to proceed with the plan.
