The government has rejected demands by the Council of Governors to increase the funds allocated to counties by Sh 118 billion. Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua says the government can only add Sh 73 billion shillings and only if the annual revenue collected rises by Sh 2.2 trillion. Noting that the government was already lagging behind by three months in disbursing the funds, Gachagua urged county chiefs to be patient as the government resolves the hitch.
