Teachers' unions protest privatization of education

Teachers' unions have protested privatization and commercialization of education in the country calling for a national dialogue to address what they have termed as a ticking time bomb in the sector. the unions comprising the kenya national union of teachers (KNUT), Kenya Union of Post-Primary education teachers (KUPPET), and the universities academic staff union (UASU) have launched a campaign against the planned privatization of education, calling on the government to adequately fund the sector and ensure it remains a public good.
