Enock Ondego, the composer of the famous ‘wimbo wa historia and kenya yetu’ has died. Ondego died at the age of 90 in his home in Kisauni, Mombasa county, but as Mary Muoki reports, even though his songs were renowned countrywide and played without fail during Jamhuri and Madaraka days, the composer died a poor man, sick, alone and forgotten.
