Huge sinkhole sparks panic in Nakuru

Transport along the Nakuru - Eldoret road was paralyzed for hours after the fissure appeared on Wednesday evening following a heavy downpour. The area was cordoned off as KENHA officials moved in to assess the site and fill the holes using stones. Normal traffic flow on the road has resumed, but residents are living in fear due to the increase in occurence of fissures in Nakuru town. A similar fissure emerged at the same spot on the same day last year.
