Patients with life-threatening conditions such as leukemia, lymphomas, sickle cell disease, and immune deficiency disorders can now be treated with bone marrow transplants here in Kenya. The first such treatment was done on October 10 2022 on a 55-year-old woman who was suffering from multiple myeloma which is a blood cancer. The patient is recovering well and narrates to us her journey before and after the bone marrow transplant.
