The presentation of the first budget under the Ruto administration by Treasury Cabinet Secretary Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u Thursday, has been met with varied reactions by members of the public. While some expressed satisfaction towards some of the amendments made to the finance bill 2023 including the housing levy tax reduction from a proposed 3% to 1.5%, others expressed concerns over the increase in fuel tax to 16% noting this will increase the cost of production in various sectors which will raise the cost of living. Our reporter Nduta Mukami samples some of the views.
