Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah wants the Managing Director of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria, jailed for 6 months for contempt of conservatory orders issued by the High Court on 30th June 2023, and extended to the 10th of July 2023. According to Omtatah’s Contempt Suit that was certified as Urgent by the High Court, the EPRA M.D issued new pump prices for petroleum products despite the suspension of implementation of the Finance Act, 2023, prohibiting EPRA from effecting increased fuel prices.
