Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen hosted the Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Rt. Hon. Andrew Mitchell for a site visit of the Nairobi Railway City project. Speaking during the visit, CS Murkomen expressed the Government's appreciation of the UK Government for their support towards the development of the project. Besides changing the face of Nairobi, the multi-modal project, which sits at the heart of Nairobi, will decongest the City, create jobs for the youth, provide livable and sustainable urban space and support ridership for the Nairobi Commuter Rail. The project will also position Nairobi a regional transport hub, a centre for business and a model sustainable city, powered by green energy.
