Learning in Public Universities has been thrown into disarray after lecturers and staff made good their threat and downed their tools. The university workers took to the streets demanding the release of 2.73 billion shillings under the 2nd phase of the 2021–2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement, and 7.9 billion shillings from the 2017–2021 CBA. They are accusing the government of making empty promises despite the release of 2.5 billion shillings, insisting they will only resume work once the arrears are paid in full.
