A ten-year project that targets restoring the degraded Mau forest natural ecosystems has been launched in Nairobi. The first phase of the restoration project, spearheaded by Environment Principal Secretary Festus Ng’eno, targets to rehabilitate over 3, 000 hectares in the forest. The project will incorporate the provision of alternative energy sources for the surrounding communities, the adoption of sustainable agro-forestry, the circular economy and planting trees in degraded areas.
