A total of 2,060 candidates who sat for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations scored less than 100 marks while 8,525 candidates scored 400 marks and above. Education CS Ezekiel Machogu also announced that female candidates performed slightly better than their male counterparts in English, Kiswahili and Kenyan sign language while male candidates slightly outperformed their female counterparts in mathematics and science
