The Kenya Kwanza government has commenced its efforts to establish a legal framework for the recently outlawed housing levy by the high court. Through a bill for an Act of Parliament, the government through its leader of government business in the national assembly Kimani Ichungwah, is seeking to give effect to article 43 of the constitution; to provide a framework for access to affordable housing; and for connected purposes. The bill seeks to create a board that will administrate the funds collected under the housing levy.
