Azimio leaders urge the Church to speak out, claim Kenyans are being overtaxed

Opposition leaders led by Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga have called upon the church to speak out against the government's excesses. Speaking during a church service in Kisumu, the leaders faulted President Willam Ruto's tax regime, calling on the government to reduce the taxes imposed under the Finance Act 2023 and spur economic activity instead. This comes amid mounting pressure on the Kenya Kwanza government to reduce taxes, which have seen the cost of living skyrocket.
