The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife is piloting a new wildlife claims administration scheme aimed at making the compensation process for victims of human-wildlife conflict efficient and responsive to citizen's needs. Tourism cabinet secretary Alfred Mutua says that in the 2022-2023 financial year alone, the government has paid victims of wildlife conflict 908 million shillings.
