Rais wa Kenya William Ruto alikuwa kati ya maelfu ya waombolezaji waliokwenda kutoa heshima za mwisho kwa aliyekuwa anashikilia rekodi ya ulimwengu ya mbio ndefu, Kelvin Kiptum siku ya Ijumaa (Februari 23).
Kipaji chake na unyenyekevu wake ulisisitizwa wakati wa ibada ya kumuaga huko katika kijiji cha Chepkorio, huko Rift Valley.
Mwanariadha huyo mwenye umri wa miaka 24 alikuwa amekimbia katika marathon tatu tu za kimataifa, na kila moja ilikuwa mara saba zaidi kwa mwendo wake wa kasi kuwahi kurekodiwa.
Ruto aliwahimiza wanariadha waliokuwa katika maziko kuenzi kumbukumbu ya Kiptum katika mashindano yajayo ya olimpik.
