More than 200 families in Kwa Makaa area of Tudor Ward in Mombasa County, are living in distress after a tycoon erected a perimeter wall around their houses, fencing them off on all sides and restricting their freedom of movement. The developer accompanied by hired goons, allegedly descended on the residents’ dwellings, demolishing them without notice. An appeal has been made to both the county and national governments to urgently intervene, terming the actions as inhumane, harassment and unlawful eviction that have left many families living in fear.
