Education CS says 7.2 of the 7.9 billion has already been paid

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba says the 7.9 billion shillings being claimed by lecturers in the 2017/2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement is suspect. While responding to concerns raised by senators on the strike that is now in its third week, CS Ogamba said there is a stalemate after the Salaries and Remuneration Commission indicated that 7.2 billion shillings of the 7.9 billion shillings was paid. Ogamba said the court directed the strike be called off to allow for a reconciliation process.
