The National Assembly Public Accounts Committee now wants the state Department of Correctional Services to provide a roadmap towards acquiring titles deeds for 102 parcels of prison land that have no ownership documents. Correctional Services principal secretary Salome Muhia informed the MPs that at least four thousand acres of prison land had been encroached on while some parcels had 36 active cases in court. The MPs however are concerned over the delay by the prisons department to reclaim the Nakuru land from encroachers even after winning the case in court.
