Private hospitals across the country have been urged to lower the prices of blood transfusion services to enhance accessibility. Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority regional director Festus Koech who spearheaded the 2 day blood donation drive at the Kenya archives grounds in Nairobi, cautioned against high costs on such critical services to create a barrier for many patients in need. During the drive Kenyans were urged to join the course which is aimed at replenishing blood banks in the country. Kenya Broadcasting Corporation partnered with the Kenya Tissue and transplant Authority for a blood donation drive. So far 350 pints of blood of the targeted 600 pints has been donated.
