Kenya's Ferdinand Omanyala eased into the semi-finals of the men's 100 meters at the Paris Olympic Games, winning his heat in 10.08 seconds.
Omanyala, who has the second fastest time this year, will be joined by, among others, world leader Kishane Thompson from Jamaica and world 100m champion Noah Lyles from the USA. The final and semi-final will be staged tomorrow. Earlier on, Vivian Chebet joined compatriots Mary Moraa and Lilian Odira in the semi-finals of the 800 meters after finishing second in the repechage competition.
