Rampant dissolution of youth groups is being blamed for the low uptake of the Uwezo fund facility among the youth. Uwezo Fund board chairperson Anne Njuguna says over seven billion shillings has been disbursed to at least one million beneficiaries since the fund’s inception but the uptake among the youth remains relatively low she is now urging young Kenyans to form groups to benefit from the facility noting it is capable of addressing the youth unemployment menace through self-employment. The fund’s chief executive officer Peter Leng’apiani added the fund’s management is working on policies to enhance capacity building and sensitization especially among the youth in order to make the most of the facility
