Raising public awareness for elderly rights

Kilifi County has established an elderly persons steering committee that will sensitize the community on the rights of the elderly and combat associated stigma in society. The initiative has seen the County and National governments partner with state and non-state actors to safeguard the interests and welfare of the elderly persons in the county.The county which has reported several instances of killings and harassment for the elderly becomes the first in the country to establish an elderly persons committee.
