Residents of Hurara in Tana Delta sub-county, Tana River County have urged the county government to halt plans of establishing new settlements for people affected by floods because it could lead to conflict between the existing communities as they were not consulted about the plan. They, suggested that it would be better for the government to create the new settlements in unoccupied areas to avoid any disputes, given that Tana River County has vast inhabited land. They also emphasized the importance of involving them in the projects being undertaken as their input matters
