Activists push for judgment in 2020 Tanzania human rights case

A coalition of regional civil society and the Pan African lawyers Union has filed a application seeking to have African Court on Human and peoples' rights to release a judgement in a case challenging violations related to 2020 Tanzanian General Elections. The group says the Court has taken too long to determine a landmark case arising from Tanzania’s disputed 2020 elections, which were widely criticized by rights groups over alleged human rights violations and restrictions on political freedoms.
