The government has been asked to regularly release the monthly stipend to the elderly to alleviate their sufferings. Ahadi Kenya Executive Director Stanley Kamau says the delays in the release of the monthly two thousand shillings under the Inua Jamii Programme to the elderly has not only caused them a lot of suffering but has seen cases of attacks on the elderly on the rise whenever the lump sum is paid to them after long delays. He also called on the government to enroll more beneficiaries in the program as more join the bracket on an annual basis.
