The Administration Police Chaplaincy has elevated Richard Chepsergon to the rank of Bishop during a consecration and ordination ceremony held at the APs Protestant and Community Churches at SGB and VIP Protection Unit in Uhuru Camp, Nairobi. The event brought together police officers and clergy, who used the platform to raise concern over the rising cases of alcohol and substance abuse among young women, terming the trend a growing social crisis. Speaking during the ceremony, Kibet Kipkoech and Masoud Mwinyi warned that the vice, largely driven by peer pressure and weakening social structures, could have far-reaching consequences if not addressed. They called for a shift from overreliance on arrests to more community-based approaches, including mentorship, counselling, and strengthened moral guidance to help reform affected individuals.
