It is emerging tonight that 12 people were killed by police during anti-government protests in the country. Amnesty International and human rights watch say most of the victims were bystanders, among them two children killed by teargas. Human rights watch also claims that it documented 12 cases of gunshot injuries in Kisumu, Migori, Homa Bay and Nairobi during the three days of anti-government protests called by Azimio La Umoja Leader Raila Odinga. They are now calling for action to be taken against police officers who committed the crime and their commanders.
