Angola yasema itajaribu kusimamia mazungumzo kati ya DRC na M23
Angola imesema siku ya Jumanne itajaribu kusimamia mazungumzo ya moja kwa moja kati ya Jamhuri ya Kidemokrasia ya Congo na waasi wa M23 wanaoungwa mkono na Rwanda katika siku zijazo.
Haikufahamika iwapo serikali ya Congo, ambayo ilikataa mara nyingi kufanya mazungumzo na M23, itashiriki katika mazungumzo hayo.
Msemaji wa ofisi ya rais wa Congo aliiambia Reuters mamlaka hiyo imezingatia hatua hiyo, wakati naibu msemaji wa M23 alisema ulikuwa “ni ushindi wa hoja” na kuthibitisha ushiriki wa kikundi hicho katika mazungumzo hayo.
Rais wa DRC Felix Tshisekedi alifanya ziara ya kikazi mjini Luanda na alikutana na mwenzie Joao Lourenco, ofisi ya rais wa Angola ilisema katika taarifa kwenye Facebook.
“Angola kama mpatanishi katika mzozo wa mashariki mwa Congo, itaanzisha mawasiliano na M23, ili wajumbe kutoka Congo na M23 wafanye mazungumzo ya moja kwa moja mjini Luanda katika siku zijazo,” ofisi ya rais iliongeza.
Nchi hiyo iliyoko Kusini mwa Afrika imekuwa ikijaribu kusimamia kufikiwa kwa sitisho la mapigano na kupunguza mivutano kati ya Congo na jirani yake Rwanda, ambayo imekuwa ikishutumiwa kuwasaidia kikundi cha waasi wa Kitutsi.
Rwanda imekanusha kuwapa msaada wa silaha na wanajeshi waasi wa M23, na imesema majeshi yake yanajihami dhidi ya jeshi la Congo na wanamgambo wenye chuki na Kigali.
Waasi wa M23 wamekamata miji mikubwa miwili iliyoko mashariki mwa Congo tangu Januari katika mvutano wa mgogoro wa muda mrefu ambao kiini chake ulisambaa Congo kutokana na mauaji ya halaiki ya Rwanda yam waka 1994 na juhudi ya kutaka kudhibiti eneo kubwa lenye madini nchini Congo.
