Auditor-General flags missing land titles in affordable housing projects

A report by Auditor-General Nancy Gathungu has revealed that nearly 70 percent of ongoing Affordable Housing projects do not have title deeds, raising concerns that the multi-billion-shilling Kenya Kwanza Affordable Housing programme could face future legal disputes over land ownership. The special audit further indicates that markets constructed under the Economic Stimulus Programme launched by President William Ruto account for the majority of the 269 projects missing key documentation.
