Bar owners petition Senate to reject tobacco bill amendments

Bar owners under the banner of the bars, hotels, and liquor traders association of Kenya- Bahlita- together with retailers under the retail traders association of Kenya -RETRAK- have submitted a petition to the Senate asking the members to immediately stop further proceedings of the Tobacco Control (amendment) bill of 2024 and re-submit it for fresh public participation. According to Bahlita, the bill as it stands will lead to job losses in the sector.
