Barasa-Oparanya feud deepens as Kakamega residents call for calm

The political rivalry in Kakamega County has escalated between Governor Fernandes Barasa and the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives, Wycliffe Oparanya, who also served as the county’s first governor. Governor Barasa, while addressing residents in Malava Constituency, accused Oparanya of publicly undermining his leadership and urged him to end what he described as repeated acts of humiliation before the people.
