Benni McCarthy: New Kenya coach wants team with 'hunger' - BBC Africa
🇰🇪 ⚽️ African football legend Benni McCarthy has been appointed as the new head coach of Kenya – and says he is targeting World Cup qualification.
The former South African forward enjoyed a glittering playing career, being named best player at the 1998 Afcon, appearing at two World Cups and winning the European Champions League with Porto in 2004.
Most recently, he was a first-team coach at Manchester United, but now he’s promising to turn the Harambee Stars into a “hard-working” team ready to die for the shirt.
BBC Sport Africa sat down with McCarthy to hear why he thinks he can turn Kenya into a team ready to compete on football’s global stage.
