Police in Busia have arrested one person of interest after intercepting a bus transporting bhang valued at approximately KSh 300,000. According to a statement by the National Police Service (NPS) on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, officers acted on a tip-off and stopped a Nairobi-bound bus at the Suo roadblock along the Busia–Kisumu Highway. Upon inspection, they discovered 10 bales of Cannabis sativa weighing about 10 kilograms. The suspect linked to the illegal consignment was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned in court.
