He urged the public to take responsibility for ensuring a clean environment. Mwea East DCC, who represented the County Commissioner, assured NEMA of collaboration on the enforcement of the set rules. He further congratulated the county government on the effort to ensure the markets within the county are always clean. Kirinyaga County CEC for Environment James Mutugi reiterated that the environment a devolved function, and they will continue to enforce existing laws.
