Calls intensify for autonomy in junior secondary schools

Calls are growing louder for the Ministry of Education to grant full autonomy to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS), with teachers and union leaders in Siaya County decrying the continued marginalisation of JSS educators. Led by Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) official Richard Agot, the teachers described their working conditions as deplorable, blaming the lack of autonomy for persistent administrative conflicts and declining learning standards.
