Recently, 15 elephants died in southern Kenya, with government officials stating that preliminary reports suggest the deaths may have been caused by pesticides sprayed on tomato farms surrounding Amboseli National Park. Conservationists have questioned the claim, and local farmers have also expressed scepticism. The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of wildlife coexisting with surrounding communities. As the world celebrates World Elephant Day, BBC reporter Kaleb Moges looks at some of the conservation efforts helping farmers, pastoralists, and wildlife peacefully share the Amboseli landscape despite these ongoing challenges.
