Cancer patients decry long waits, SHA delays at KNH

Cancer patients at Kenyatta National Hospital expressed frustrations over frequent downtimes of the social health authority system. Patients and caregivers say the disruptions have forced them to wait up to three days for procedure approvals, deepening the pain and distress of an already difficult journey. And as the country marks World Cancer Day, patients at KNH are now calling for urgent intervention to stabilize the system and for the full implementation of a presidential directive to increase the SHA package from 550,000 shillings to 800,000 shillings.
