The Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA) has intensified a nationwide mentorship programme aimed at increasing uptake of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects in primary and junior schools under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
The initiative, currently underway in Taita Taveta County at Mwanyambo Junior School in Voi Sub-county, is part of a wider outreach programme covering 11 counties. It targets rural schools facing challenges such as limited science laboratories, inadequate learning materials, and reduced exposure to practical STEM learning.
